Christmas: Ortom Urges Nigerians To Pray For President Buhari

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has called on the people of Benue and Nigerians to remember President Muhammadu Buhari in their prayers.

The governor also advised Nigerians to maintain hope in the country by continuing to work together to create an integrated nation.

This was featured in the governor’s aide, Mr. Nathaniel Ikyur’s Christmas goodwill message to Benue inhabitants as well as Nigerians, which was issued in Makurdi.

He described it as a chance for all Nigerians, regardless of ethnicity, political allegiance, or religious background, to work collaboratively deliberately to remove the terrorist elements destabilizing the country.

The statement read: “We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let us celebrate as one big Nigerian family with love and care for one another. Let us avoid divisive tendencies where religion, ethnicity and political differences have eaten deep into our lives.

“We must not allow this criminality by terrorists and their sponsors to continue and destroy our nation. Let’s come together to end it now for the benefit of our children and future generations,”

Ortom expressed sadness for the anguish terror organizations have inflicted on Nigerians’ political, economic, and social lives.
He claimed that the annual observance of Jesus Christ’s birth symbolized God’s love for humanity.

He went on to say that the season has provided a rare opportunity to offer genuine love, regardless of political or religious divides. He urged Christians to pray for peace and concord, and he urged them to do so.

“Given the recent security alert raised by security agencies, Benue people should be conscious of their environment now.

“Let them report suspicious movements of people to the security agencies so that together, we can fish out the bad eggs amongst us,” he added.
