Legendary Ivorian Afrobeats Star DJ Arafat Dead at 33 | On Sunday the 11th of August, the Ivorian musician was involved in a gory accident as his motorbike runs into the car of a journalist.
Following the occurrence of the unfortunate incident, the Ivorian celebrity was rushed to a nearby Pollythenic in Abidjan where he was being attended to. The doctors confirmed he had several injuries including a skull fracture. The accident actually happened on the night of Sunday, the 11th day of August 2019.

Born Ange Didier Huon and popularly known in the entertainment industry as DJ Arafat, the Coupé-Décalé hitmaker was pronounced dead on Monday, the 12th August 2019. He died as a result of the serious injuries he sustained from the gory accident that happened on Sunday night.
DJ Arafat’s motorbike is said to have hit a car that was driven by a journalist from Radio Cotê. He was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Deux Plateaux in Abidjan, whereupon all the efforts of the medical team, but unfortunately, he couldn’t survive.
His bedside was visited by two Ivorian government ministers and a senior official. Thes include a State minister and Ivorian Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Mr. Maurice Bandaman.
Many fans and lovers of DJ Arafat are still in shock and do not believe that the celebrity and singer, is actually dead. Others are shedding tears of grief and expressing both sadness and disbelief about the unfortunate incident whiles saying “Arafat cannot die”

He was born in Yopogon somewhere in Western Abidjan in 1986. He started his career in clubs in the early days of the year 2000 in “Princess Street”, Yopougon before becoming widely known in the country of Abidjan and internationally. We would refer to him as Shatta Wale if he was to be a Ghanaian since the Afrobeats artiste was controversial in his own ways of life and imposed himself as the King of Coupè Dècalè. He also had recurring clashes that pitted him against the other cut-shifted artistes in Cotê D’Ivoire.
DJ Arafat was an artiste who liked to claim new nicknames especially and had since taken on some nicknames from ‘”Commandant Zabra” to “Yorobo”. His most recent nickname before his death was “Chef de la Chine Populaire” which translates into English as “Head of the People of China”.
Ange Didier Houon was a very popular artiste. His music has traveled a long way through most of the francophone countries in the world. Also, he is a record-breaking artiste with a very high reputation both locally and around the globe. One of his latest singles recently released, titled “Moto Moto” music video broke a record on Youtube with 4.5 million views since its release in May. He is also the first Ivorian musician to hit 1 million views on Youtube in less than 24 hours of upload.
