No Traveller Will Sleep On The River Niger Bridge – FRSC Promises
Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has stated that his administration will continue to work with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to maintain road safety in the state, particularly during the holiday season.
This was disclosed by Okowa during a joint press conference with the Corps Marshal of the FRSC, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, at Government House in Asaba, on traffic management in the state during the Christmas season.
He promised that the state government would continue to do all possible to assist the Corps in maintaining a free flow of traffic across the state.
In his own words :
“There is no doubt that a lot of work is being done to ensure free flow of traffic via the River Niger bridge as a lot of travels are being done throughout the festive season,”
“We have always cooperated with the FRSC to ensure the free flow of traffic.
“Already, the Secretary to the State Government has coordinated security agencies to see what they could do to ensure free flow of traffic at the bridge head.
“I have also got a call from my brother governor in Anambra State; they are also doing the same thing.”
“I am sure that the SSG will keep his eyes on the ball and continue to monitor the progress recorded. I thank my brother governor in Anambra for the cooperation from their own end.
“It is not the best thing for someone to travel from a very long journey only to be stuck in traffic at the head bridge. We will continue to do all that is necessary to keep the free flow of traffic,”
