According to Charter House, this sanction means they won’t be able to participate in any event by the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards; be it nominations, performances, selections or honors.
These decisions were taken on today, Thursday 23rd day of May, at a press conference held by the board of members for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards scheme following the chaos that happened between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy on last Saturday at the just ended 20th Anniversary of the VGMAs in Accra.
According to Mr Nat Brew, a board member, the actions of the two dancehall aristes on the awards night have brought the name of the event to disrepute. He mentioned that their decision to sanction the two artistes was made after “careful deliberations” and “extensive consultation” with stakeholders in the music industry.
Not too long after these announcements were made, Shatta Wale took to the social media platform, Facebook, to reveal he has pulled out of the awards scheme going forward.

Even though their lawyers had argued for a self-recognizance bail on grounds that the two accused persons were known figures in the music industry and would avail themselves for the trial, magistrate Isaac Addo rejected their request of self-recognizance bail and had set their bail condition at 50,000 cedis each with one surety.
Both stars are charged with issuing threats and using abusive words with the intent to disturb public peace, with Stonebwoy facing count of displaying weapon in public place without permission. The gun is an Australian gun INFK 158 with butt number AA792002017.
The two dancehall artistes have both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate asked that the accused persons be of good behaviour in the course of the trial. He also warned the two rivalry acts against any acts that could impede the progress of the case. They are expected in court again on June 20.
