“We Need To Maintain The Highlife Genre As Our Identity Because It’s In Our Blood”-Flowking Stone Urges Musicians [Video]
Ghanaian rapper, Flowking Stone has averred that Ghanaian musicians need to maintain the highlife genre as our identity as Ghanaians because it’s our culture and it has been fused in our blood.

According to the former member of the Bradex music duo, the Kumerican drill musician has been fused with Highlife music, hence despite the fact that the new crop of musicians has changed their style of music, the highlife genre can still be found in their songs.
The rapper also intimated that “Money” composed by Kweku Flick which brought him to the limelight has highlife tunes and rhythms within it but can only be noticed when the instrumentals are taken off the song.
Flowking Stone went on to say that the Highlife tunes have been the identity of Ghanaians in the music world and despite digitalization, Ghanaians will always jam to the old tunes wherever they hear them because it is our blood.
He stated that it is high time Ghanaians begin to cherish and uphold the Highlife genre because that portrays our culture to the outside world.

In other news, celebrated Ghanaian actress, Martha Ankomah has lamented one of the main causes of the demise of the Ghanaian film industry. She said that most Ghanaian film producers were not paying actors and actresses very well as compared to Nigerian film producers.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM with Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana on Ekwansodwodwo, Martha Ankomah stated that most Ghanaian film producers were being stingy with the incomes they make out of their movies and refused to pay actresses and actors well.
She stated that some Ghanaian film producers connived and eradicated the Nigerian film producers who were paying them so well out of the system due to competition, yet they refused to do the needful neither were they shooting movies as well.
