We Will Pay Delayed Salaries of Temporary Staffs Next Week – EC Chair

The Ghana Electoral Commission chaired by Jean Mensa has promised to pay all temporal staff it recruited for the just ended referenda for the creation of the 6 new regions, their delayed allowances next week. We Will Pay Delayed Salaries of Temporary Staffs Next Week – EC Chair

Staffs who work for Electoral Commission during the referenda which took place 4-months ago have been complaining over the delay in releasing their salaries.

The EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa, in the presence of the Public Accounts Committee on Monday 29 April, revealed that the finance ministry has released funds for the payment and that they are in the process of paying all temporary staffs soon.

“We have had just recently, I think on Thursday notified by the Ministry of Finance that they gave us a warrant indicating that they had released the monies to us. So, we have just started processing it on the GIFECs platform.

“So, we are hoping that by the end of next week payments would have been made to the temporary staff,” Mrs. Mensah assured.

She had also debunked all rumors about the creation of new constituencies, says it is on their agenda, but no decisions have been taken yet.
