Former President, John Mahama has disclosed that before the demise of Elvis Quarshie, he was with him by his bedside at the hospital. According to him, he knew Elvis when he (John Mahama) was the deputy minister for communication during his young age because Elvis was mostly sent as a multimedia journalist to cover stories at the parliament.

John Mahama stated that Elvis was a good person who portrayed his professional journalist treat anytime he was assigned to cover stories in the parliament.

He wrote on his official page, “Rest In Peace, Elvis. I knew Elvis from my days as a young deputy minister for communications especially when as a young journalist he was assigned to cover parliament. He was a good person and his days with the Multimedia Group showcased his professional journalistic trait, and a classic example of how to play the gatekeeping role as a media person. I was by his bedside briefly during his period of hospitalization and feel indeed sad that he was unable to pull through. We can only thank God for his life, and my heart goes out at this time to his wife, Cynthia, the children, family, and to the Multimedia Group.”
